In the RICO case against YSL, which prosecutors call a “criminal street gang,” Young Thug and 13 co-defendants stand trial.
Rappers, record executives, professors, and others could testify in Young Thug’s future RICO trial.
Before jury selection in Young Thug’s trial, WSB-TV got the defense’s list of potential witnesses. Killer Mike, YouTube’s Global Head of Music Lyor Cohen, 300 Entertainment co-founder Kevin Liles, Jerrika Karlae, and Atlanta City Councilman Antonio Lewis are among others on the list.

Dr. Erik Nielson and professors with Hip Hop expertise are among the probable witnesses for the defence, as previously reported by AllHipHop. Nielson co-wrote Rap on Trial: Race, Lyrics, and Guilt in America, a book that investigates the use of lyrics as evidence in criminal trials.

On RICO accusations, Young Thug and 13 co-defendants are awaiting trial. The jury selection process is set to begin on Wednesday (January 4).
The trial is scheduled to start on January 9. The trial, according to Judge Ural Glanville, might last six to nine months.
In May 2022, Young Thug was one of 28 people accused in a RICO indictment against YSL. In the case, eight men accepted plea bargains. Several additional people will be tried at a later date.
The most noteworthy names to take plea bargains were Gunna, Slimelife Shawty, Lil Duke, and Young Thug’s brother Unfoonk. As part of their plea bargains, Trontavious Stephens and Antonio Sledge consented to testify at trial.
