The Flash co-star admitted it was hard to watch all the controversy surrounding the film’s lead, Ezra Miller.
In the last year alone, Miller has been embroiled in several controversies, including being arrested for groping and other unusual behavior and allegations in Hawaii. But one incident made headlines again. Miller recently pleaded guilty to charges of trespassing on her former childhood friend’s home.
The actor had previously apologized for her actions and asked for her help. This is what seems to have successfully secured her future as Barry Allen in the DCU.
Now, The Flash’s co-stars have expressed hope that fans will enjoy the film despite the disturbing headlines.
Iris West Star Offers Her Opinion on the Ezra Miller Disputations
The Flash co-star Kiersey Clemons, who is set to reprise her role as Iris West, was recently told by The Hollywood Reporter what she thinks of DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn’s recent tribute to the upcoming superhero movie. Gunn previously called the upcoming Flash movie “He’s probably one of the best superhero movies ever made.”
Clemmons said, I did, and he said something very nice:
“I had a great time. I’ve known Ezra for years and I loved working with Andy. Despite everything, we had a great time filming and we did make a great movie. I hope that despite [all the headlines], people enjoy the movie because what James said is true. I believe what he said and I think it’s correct.”
When asked how she felt reading the headlines about co-star Ezra Miller, she said it was “absolutely” difficult and “really unfair” about Miller.
“…and what people forget is that a lot of people go through that but they don’t do it with the whole world watching. Although it comes with the territory, it’s unfair and has been hard watching that.”
Although The Flash and its star have been the subject of controversy, Clemons was anxious for people to watch it. Although she has only seen “a little part” of the finished product, she reiterated that “it looks terrific.”
How long will Ezra Miller’s headlines last?
It’s amazing how little people pay attention to scandals of actors who haven’t been in the news for over a week. However, most of Ezra Miller’s wrongdoings have either been settled in court, dropped, or developed further.
Much like Gal Gadot and Jason Momoa, none of the DC Studios CEOs have confirmed who will stay or leave the new DCU. Given how much-praised The Flash, the actor’s departure from the franchise may not be as certain as fans hoped. Fans will know if Miller has a future with the franchise when The Flash hits theaters on June 16.
