When asked if his character appears in the follow-up, the Oscar-winner who provided the voice of Spider-Man Noir in Into the Spider-Verse was evasive.
As a big Spider-Man fan:
As for the Spider-Verse, I thought all the co-operative Spider-people from the first film would be back. I know the Big Three (Miles, Peter, and Gwen) for sure, but Spider-Han, Peni, and Noir. ? have to be there too, right? Well, maybe not.
Speaking to Screenrant, the voice of Spider-Man Noir, the legendary Nicolas Cage, made it seem like he wouldn’t be coming back. “You’ll have to ask Sony,” Cage said. “I don’t know what’s going on with that. Nobody told me about it. Ask her. I don’t I wish they would. I also love Spider-Man Noir. I think he’s a great character. Spiderman is the coolest superhero. And when you combine that with Cagney and Bogart and Edward G. Robinson, it’s a great character. ”
Well, Cage may be telling the truth here. Maybe nobody talked to him about it and the character doesn’t appear in the movie. Again, maybe nobody talked to him. That’s because he’s in the third movie instead of the second. Or maybe “Nobody Talked To Me” is just his polite way of not ruining the movie six months before its release. (By the way, “ask the studio” is a very typical industry distraction.) Either of these could be true. So, as suggested by Cage, io9 has reached out to Sony and will update this article with any feedback.
If I had to invest money personally, I’d say he’s back. It may not be the 2023 sequel, but the 2024 movie Beyond the Spider-Verse should also be considered. Extending Into the Spider-verse’s storyline over two movies, introducing a ton of new Spider-People, and finally not bringing back fan favorites from the original is utterly unorthodox, and frankly. Unless, of course, the story somehow revolves around their death or sacrifice and you don’t need the voices. I don’t know, but I’ll let you know when. Spider-Man:
