The actor disclosed that he is currently in discussions to produce the fourth instalment of the franchise.
On Thursday, Jackie Chan attended the Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia (December 8). He stated during a speech he gave on stage that negotiations to shoot Rush Hour 4 are now in progress. He declared that he will meet with the director this evening to talk about the upcoming fourth film.
But this is when things start to get interesting. The first three films in the trilogy were directed by filmmaker Brett Ratner, but, likely, he won’t be back for the fourth.
Since 2014, he hasn’t been directing. Hercules, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, was his final film to direct. In 2017, seven separate women accused Ratner of sexual harassment and misconduct. Later, the producer and director’s relationship with Warner Bros was terminated.
Chan and Chris Tucker have both appeared in all three Rush Hour movies. The first of which came out in 1998, and the last was released in 2007, 15 years ago.

Fans are still interested in the fourth film, despite everything. Fans have started to express their excitement on social media after the announcement.
According to reports, the first movie brought in approximately $244 million globally. The majority of the credit for Chan becoming a North American action and comedy star goes to this series.
Since then, the actor from Hong Kong has maintained a hectic schedule, appearing in some films like The Spy Next Door and the Kung Fu Panda series.
The celebrity also revealed, in a fairly stunning statement, that he intends to change the direction of his career. He wants to act in “more love stories” rather than more roles in action movies.
The 68-year-old is at the moment getting ready for a project he called “a drama film for women.”
