Later this month, the supergroup’s debut mini-album with the same name will be released.
The K-pop label SM Entertainment held its yearly new year’s event on January 1 under the name “SMTOWN LIVE 2023: SMCU PALACE@KWANGYA.” The agency’s stars alternated between playing older songs and songs from their most recent collaborative album, “2022 Winter SMTOWN: SMCU Palace,” throughout the event, which lasted well over five hours.
GOT The Beat, the first division of Girls On Top, the first all-female supergroup from SM, debuted their upcoming song “Stamp On It” during the concert. The girl trio sings and raps to the fast-paced tune while dancing in time with its slick choreography in the performance, which you can watch on the agency’s YouTube account below.
In the chorus, they sing, “I want it all with elegance, smack down/A nasty shakedown, Mona Lisa smile/With loving eyes, the orbit of yours, I’ll break it down/You’ll spin around to a piece of me, piece of mind.”
On January 16, “Stamp On It” and the group’s debut mini-album with the same name will be made available both physically and digitally. In the upcoming weeks, more information, such as a comprehensive tracklist, is anticipated.
The septet will make its first appearance since the release of its breakthrough single, “Step Back,” in 2022 with the next mini-album. The song, like “Stamp On It,” debuted at SM Entertainment’s New Year show before being made available on streaming services later that month.
GOT The Beat features stars from all four of the current K-pop generations, including BoA, Taeyeon, and Hyoyeon from Girls’ Generation, Wendy and Seulgi from Red Velvet, and Karina and Winter from aespa. Each member of the act is either the primary vocalist or primary dancer of their original ensemble, except BoA, who performs as a soloist.
